5. Studio Rules

5.1 Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

5.2 Customers are responsible for supervising their children’s behaviour.

5.3 We ask customers not to eat near the pottery while painting. This guidance is in place because any grease that transfers on to the pottery surface will prevent the glaze from adhering properly.

5.4 We ask customers to respect the studio environment, staff, and other guests.

6. Pottery Painting & Glazing

6.1 Finished items are glazed and fired by our team and will usually be ready for collection within 7-10 days.

6.2 We may ask for your contact details so a member of our team can let you know when your items are ready for collection.

6.3 While every care is taken, The Craft Tent cannot be held responsible for kiln accidents (e.g., cracking, glaze imperfections, colour variations). Such outcomes are an inherent risk of pottery firing.

6.4 Customers are responsible for ensuring their painted pieces are clearly labelled with their name before leaving the studio.

7. Liability

7.1 Pottery items, paints, and glazes are fragile. Customers must take care when handling studio materials.

7.2 The Craft Tent is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings while on the premises, except where caused by negligence on our part.

7.3 Customers use the studio facilities at their own risk.

8. Allergies & Health

8.1 If you or your child have any allergies, please inform a member of staff before participating in activities.

12.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. POTTERY CARE, USE, AND COMPLAINTS

13.1 Handmade Nature of Products:
All The Craft Tent pottery is handcrafted. Slight variations in colour, glaze, texture, or finish are inherent to handmade ceramics and do not constitute a defect.

13.2 Care Instructions:
Customers are responsible for the proper care of pottery items. To preserve the quality and longevity of products, it is recommended that:

• Pottery is hand-washed using mild detergents;
• Prolonged soaking or exposure to boiling/hot liquids is avoided;
• Microwaving or extreme temperature changes are avoided unless explicitly stated as safe.

13.3 Reporting Issues:
Any defects, damage, or glaze irregularities must be reported to The Craft Tent within 14 days of collection or delivery. Reports should include clear photographs to assist with assessment.

13.4 Inspection and Assessment:
The Craft Tent reserves the right to inspect any item subject to a complaint to determine whether a repair, re-glaze, or replacement is appropriate.

13.5 Limitations of Liability:
The Craft Tent shall not be responsible for:

• Any damage caused by normal use, misuse, or improper care;
• Changes to glaze or texture resulting from prolonged soaking, boiling liquids, or other post-collection usage;
• Minor variations inherent to handmade items.

13.6 Repairs and Re-Glaze:
Where a repair or re-glaze is deemed feasible, The Craft Tent may offer a solution at its discretion. Any work undertaken after the 14-day reporting period may incur a charge, which will be communicated to the customer in advance.

13.7 General:
By purchasing or collecting pottery from The Craft Tent, customers acknowledge the handmade nature of the products and agree to follow recommended care instructions.
